The International Olympic Committee recognized the WTF at the 83rd session in Moscow.

The WTF became affiliated to the International Council of Sports Science and Physical Education ICSSPE

Taekwondo in the first World Games as an official sport.
12 and 13 August 1983.
Taekwondo was adopted by the Pan American Sports Organization PASO as official sport in the Pan American Games in the PASO Assembly Gerald.
His first participation in the Pan American Games was in 1987 in Indianapolis, USA.

The WTF he joined the International Group for Construction of Sports and Leisure Facilities IAKS.
November 28 to December 1, 1983.
Taekwondo was adopted by the Supreme Council for Sport in Africa, SCSA, the 10th General Assembly as the official sport in the All Africa Games.

Taekwondo was adopted by the Olympic Council of Asia OCA, the 3rd General Assembly as an official sport for the 1986 Asian Games in Seoul, South Korea
