Understanding the Taekwondo Poomsae Taegeuk diagram
Taegeuk
Taegeuk is a symbol that represents the principles of creation of the cosmos and the norms of human life.
The circumference of the Taegeuk mark symbolizes infinity, the two parties, red and blue inside the circle symbolizes the positive yang and negative yin, turning all the time.
Consequently, Taegeuk is the light that unifies the cosmos and human life and its infinite mean energy and the source of life.
The yin and yang represent the development of the cosmos and human life and marriage of symmetrical halves, such as negative and positive, hardness and lightness, materials and anti-matter.

The eight signs bar called Gwae outside the circle are so arranged to go along with the Taegeuk in an orderly system.
One bar means the yang and the yin two bars, both of which represent the creation of harmonization with the basic principles of all phenomena of the cosmos.
The Taegeuk, infinity and yin-yang are the three elements that make up the trio philosophical Samil Sinko as mentioned in the scripture of the Korean people.
